PostSubject: Labs and rubbish bags ?   Sat Feb 09, 2008 4:09 am

Well the one big problem we have with our labs is rubbish bags...

If I leave them anywhere within sight, they are straight in there eating anything they can find.

Has anyone ever had any sucess at training a lab to stop this behaviour ? Its quite annoying, because even though I try to make sure I put any rubbish bags out of their reach, there are still times when i forget especially if im in a hurry, and they always rip them open.

Tonight our boy, ripped open a full black bag of rubbish that i left out to taske outside, and i went out the kitchen and there wasd rubbish all over the floor yuck, and Max was looking at me all innocent as if to say "what??.. i didnt do anything" LOL

I've not have this problem with my labs. It may be your dog is just bored and taking frustration out on the rubbish bag and also getting a quick meal which he probably thinks is heaven. I would suggest you let him go to the trash bag and tell him "no" or how ever you discipline them to not do a behavior, if he tries to eat from it.

Ah, i don't have this problem with bumble either.
I guess the only thing she likes to 'tuck into' is tennis balls.. which on a general scale means 'for goodness sakes, play with me'
